Description of Boat diver course
Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logg dozens. The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course Aqaba will benefit you because boats in various parts of the world do things differently. Scuba diving from a boat is fun and relatively easy because you usually descend directly onto your dive site.
If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 10 years old, you can enroll in the Boat Diver course.
The BDSC will expand your knowledge about boats from small inflatables to large liveaboards. Also you’ll gain experience scuba diving by completing two dives from a boat in your local area and learn:
- the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and
- hazards of boat diving
- proper boat diving etiquette — storage of personal equipment, personal
- conduct and considerations for care of the boat
- basic, common boat terminology
- specific boat diving laws and/or ordinances
- local boat diving laws and/or ordinances
- overview of emergency/safety equipment needed on-board private diving vessels
The Boat Diver specialty shows you the broad, basic procedures use when diving from boats. Also you learn about using current lines, different entry and exit procedures, and the organisation of getting kitted up for the dive. Besides these procedures, you also learn useful information like how to pack for boat diving. Furthermore avoiding seasickness, boating basics and boating emergencies.
Program of the course
During the program you'll go on 2 open water dives, which must be (you got it) conducted from a boat. Both dives may be conduct in 1 day. It's a good idea, but not required. So you enroll in this program to learn the techniques and procedures for scuba diving from different types of boats (inflatable boats, hard-hulled day boats, cabin cruisers, liveaboards, sailboats, etc). That's a good thing - the more boats you dive from, the more diving you do too!
